There are many reasons why the current version of ‘Pride’ is so horrible, but I want to highlight two related issues that have worked in tandem to cause significant damage to the past, present, and future of gay rights:
1. ‘LGBTQIA+’ organizations and ‘trans rights’ activists (TRA’s) tell lies that erase gay history and replace it with tall tales of ‘trans’ heroes
2. Gay shame causes today’s gays and lesbians to reject homosexuality in the service of ‘trans’
The two issues are related because the first feeds into the second.
The tall tales of Marsha P. Johnson and sidekick Sylvia Rivera as legendary Stonewall heroes were crafted to push the trans agenda. Before anyone writes to me to point out that gay history and gay rights activism existed before Stonewall: Yes, I know. But the Stonewall uprising is largely acknowledged as the moment the gay rights movement kicked into high gear. And with the revisionist history, LGBTQIA+ activists found in Marsha their Rosa Parks. As the telling of Stonewall history gets revamped and rewritten, an entire generation of gay and lesbian people are believing the lie that ‘we owe our rights to transwomen’.
This makes them feel beholden to trans dogma, and places the trans movement on a pedestal where it does not belong. Young people eat this up with a spoon, and sadly, there are some gay men my own age (who really should know better) who believe these untruths too.
Here is a just a small sampling of the Marsha and Sylvia worshipping (You can do a Google search if you want to see more, but get comfortable because you’ll be stuck at your computer until next June):

This fabrication occurs because so-called ‘human rights’ organizations, HR representatives, DEI departments, and social justice warriors lazily copy-and-paste what they see online.
You see the same lies over and over again. The riots were ‘started by’ or ‘led by’ Marsha and Sylvia. NO. They were proud transwomen. No, they were gay men in drag. They played a ‘pivotal role’. Hardly. They ‘paved the way’ for us. Absolutely not. They were ‘at the forefront’. Bullshit.
HRC lovingly quotes Marsha: “No Pride for some of us without liberation for all of us”. So moving. So inspirational. One problem: he never said it.
Terms that weren’t used at the time of the uprising and aftermath—transgender, LGBTQIA+, 'queer community’—are thrown around reverently.
Butch lesbian and actual Stonewall hero Stormé DeLarverie—if she is mentioned at all—is transed as well.
Many people have tried to point out that these stories are lies, but their attempts are drowned out by the masses. Fred Sargeant—who was there and one of the founders of Gay Pride—has been very vocal about correcting the record.
Here are several articles debunking the trans fairy tales:

..and if you prefer your info in Twitter 🧵 form, here is a great one.
But how did this retcon happen? Very deliberately, strategically and purposely. Let’s go back in time. Here’s how:
Step 1: Add T to LGB to automatically add ‘Trans’ to the ‘community’. (This was important because the legalization of gay marriage was on the horizon, and LGB groups would soon outlast their purpose and would need a new money-making scheme.)
Step 2: Rewrite gay history by transing gay figures from the past and lying about people who were not involved. This causes young gays (and older ones who are ignorant) to look upon trans people with a sense of awe.
Step 3: Inspire sympathy for trans people by creating a myth about trans ‘genocide’.
Step 4: Confuse the definitions of sex and gender. Change the meaning of high school GSA’s from ‘Gay/Straight Alliance’ to ‘Gender & Sexualities Alliance’.
Step 5: Declare that the descriptive word ‘homosexual’ is outdated and offensive, and should be replaced with the term ‘same-gender loving’.
Step 6: Now that gays are in awe of and feel beholden to ‘trans folks’, and also completely confused about gender/sex, tell them they are transphobic for not being attracted to trans people.
Voilà! You now have a whole generation of gay and lesbian people who believe they are obligated to consider members of the opposite sex as sexual partners. The alphabet groups have even taken the slogan ‘love is love’, used during the campaign for same-sex marriage rights, and coopted it to shame gay people into having sex with opposite sex people. They are now telling us we’re ’genital fetishists’ if we reject a trans-identified person of the opposite sex.
It kind of makes ‘gay’ irrelevant, right? Must be why they’re trying to erase the word altogether.
These lies feed into the shame young gay people already feel and lead them to further question themselves and hate themselves. ‘Trans’ gets all the glory and respect, and old-fashioned gays—you know, the same-sex-attracted kind—are considered gross. And ‘cis’ gays are regarded as scum. The message is clear: It’s better to be trans.
There used to be a massive Google Photos compilation of ‘Woke Homophobia’ examples, but Google has since taken it down. I had the foresight to screenshot a bunch of them for future use. Read these, and keep in mind that when these posters write ‘cis gay men’, what they mean is…gay men. The qualifier ‘cis’ is unnecessary, because the only way to BE a gay man is to be born male. It is simply impossible to be female and ‘transition’ to a gay male.
Here’s a lovely one I found on my own:
Remember, these are the people I’m supposed to be in a ‘community’ with.
When I was young, the erasure, hate, and threats gay people received came from the conservative right. Today, it’s coming from our so-called ‘allies’ and the organizations set up to protect us, and it’s spilling over into ‘the community’ itself. Trans lies matter, and they have caused enough damage. Whenever and wherever you hear these lies, please speak up.
I'm not fond of the phrase "trans rights activists" (TRAs), because these people are not advocating for any "rights" as traditionally understood, but rather for special privileges for a set of self-selected men.
As possible alternatives I suggest "transqueer activists" (TQAs) or "trans entitlement activists" (TEAs).
The problem with the word "rights" is that most people think "rights" are a good thing. This is of course a deliberate strategy by the TQAs, who have (I'm sorry to say) proven to be masters of language manipulation.
You nailed it. Trans is not a "community" or group of people. Trans is an agenda and that agenda is to 1) sexualize and/or mutilate and sterilize children 2) obliterate all boundaries among adults to turn every single person into a potential unwilling genital stimulator 3) turn life into one giant orgy 4) make $ doing all of the above.
