I've come to the painful conclusion that the acceptance we felt so chuffed about was only surface-deep. Beneath the surface lay the deep discomfort with same-sex desire that had always been there. Now the QT+ agenda has made it safe to bring that discomfort out in the open. Bigots can breathe easy: Just as was rumored for decades, Gay people can be understood as people "born in the wrong body." There's no difference between Gay, Bisexual and Trans and we admit as much when we accept the absurd "LGBTQQIAWTF+" acronym. And when we accept the label "queer," that reinforces even more harmful stereotypes. That throws open a door to fetishists and poseurs and pedophiles and everything under the sun. You're absolutely right - in the public mind today, there's no such thing as just being Gay and there never was. Gay = Queer, and Queer is an undifferentiated mass of abnormality. The most disturbing part for me is that, according to Queer Theory, all of these sex and gender identities are purely performative. We're just playacting, after all, so WHY NOT sleep with women posing as men, or vice-versa?

For decades the word "queer" was used exclusively as a slur, comparable to The Forbidden N-Word. It was appropriated by the trannies 1) to confuse and baffle the multitudes by conflating same-sex attraction with any weird shit, and 2) to borrow some of the social cachet of supposed "oppression".

I think imposing the Q-word on us was all about Queer Theory, doubling down on the old canard that being a Lesbian or a Gay man was deviant and abnormal. Where I grew up, "queer" had a very strong pedophile connotation. The QT+ lobby wanted to restore that warped notion, too. Right from the start of the Gay Liberation movement, the self-identified queers saw being homosexual as sinful, perverse and transgressive, and that view has never changed.

The divorce from the "TQ+" simply cannot come soon enough.

And all gay men and lesbians should do everything they can to hasten it.

Thanks for writing. There is a space / organisation in the UK at least which is exclusively for gay men. Its called Human Gay Male and is growing from strength to strength, now organising local chapters across the country.

The dating app Planet Romeo specifically has boxes you can tick that clearly state you are a Man looking for Men. The trans are quarantined off so easily avoided.

50 + years on from Stonewall, 40 years on from AIDS we are having to carve out our own spaces all over again.

The hate and homophobia isn't only coming from 'the right / religious' anymore as you point out. It's coming from a 'left' which long ago made it's peace with neo liberal, globalised capitalism, abandoning Marxist class struggle rooted in empirical reality, for luxury beliefs of diversity critical theory, equity, identity politics and all the other post modern ideological nonsense.

From the beginning, the program of the trans movement has been simple: "Trans Away the Gay".

Don't be lulled into complacency by the extraordinary improvement in public attitudes since Obergefel. It's already slipping. The more the trans queers push their horseshit of men women's restrooms, boys in girls' sports, and rapists in women's prisons, the more the Right Wingers who never reconciled with same-sex marriage will gain public support.

Thhe worst traitors are the gay men and lesbians who have a public platform and collaborate with the homophobic trans movement to maintain their membership in the "Progressive" tribe. Anyone who uses any expression of the form "... TQIA+" or any of its constantly changing variations identifies himself as anti-gay and should be treated as such.

The trans cult wants everyone to bow to it.

I believe this is why all the lesbian bars have closed.

Oh, and 40%??

Sorry but all the official GAY organizations, staffed by mostly gay men, jumped on the tranny train hard, mostly for funding, and lent a massive helping hand in entrenching this narrative everywhere, from governments to child mutilation (um, sorry gender) clinics, to prisons that now house rapists with vulnerable women. Many of them are still at it. The first time I was subjected to a conversation with a random stranger (gay man) about how awful the west is on "trans rights" and how behind Iran we are was at a gay club in NYC 15 years ago. It took me years to convince gay friends that this is gender essentialist horror show that will reverse all their hard earned rights. So let's not take away that agency. Rather, support same people like LGB Alliance.

Correct. Athlete Ally was founded by a gay guy and originally intended to promote gay and lesbian athletes. Now they are working overtime to destroy women's sports because their entire raison d'etre is promoting tranny male cheaters.

Nothing makes people hate the gays more than this kind of shit even though it doesn't (or shouldn't) have anything whatsoever to do with them.

I restacked it. I will also include a link in my newsletter.

Trans is a fetishization and objectification of women and same sex attracted people. It's like wearing kinky boots, but having them surgically sutured to your body, so you can pretend you were born wearing kinky boots.

It’s like transvestites decided to “enhance the costume” by making physical changes.

Wow, thanks for this. This is my first time visiting your Substack. Yes, yes, and yes. I find the dating/hookup app infiltration especially galling. A friend of mine called himself transphobic because he couldn’t continue a relationship with a “trans man,” i.e. woman, given that there was a vagina involved. My response? “No, you’re not. You’re into dick. End of story.”

It’s so sad to me how gay men have been guilted into gaslighting themselves this way.

Since you asked in your opener: a girlfriend took me to Austin's local gay manty store, and it changed my life in terms of expectation of comfort. It was surprising to see 2(X)IST pop up in Target several years later, although unfortunately with a down-market product.

Online it may seem hopeless but IRL we all ignore tranny's. I've seen even extreme leftists ignore them IRL. At the end of the day they just get attention from fetishists and only for a short period of time. Nobody wants to be with someone who is insufferable that is why Trans don't want to date each other.

There is a group "Just Gay" in Germany. Also on Twitter.

We hang together or we all hang separately. Cis-het mainstream is not rejecting you because of trans queers, it's rejecting you because you are not part of it's vision of what people should be.

Anne Martinez's avatar

Yup. Same thing happening for women, also from the left (because it's all part of the same thing). Nothing can be exclusively for female people anymore, even (or especially) when it comes to our safety and dignity.

Thank goodness I buy my underwear from Uniglo and do not care who models it for their advertisements because their style works for me.
